Founded by two friends with a shared vision to create amazing outdoor spaces for homes across New Zealand.
Our roots and the beginning of the journey
Mike & Corey have been mates for 10 years, meeting as a couple of young lads through friends, it soon became a friendship that has stood the test of time - dating, marriage, buying their homes and starting young families.
In 2020, they started talking and dreaming of what it would look like to work for themselves. Corey, a qualified sparky and after 6 years in the army and plying his trade after his service, across Christchurch and Mike growing up on a dairy farm, learning how to be an expert at doing everything you need to on a farm, he then carved out a career in operations becoming an expert in making the magic happen.
The creation of Smarter Outdoors
Both Mike & Corey came to the realisation that through combining their powers, they could build a legacy that creates amazing spaces for families across New Zealand.
In 2021, Smarter Outdoors was born, both of them quitting their day jobs and jumping feet first into being each other's boss.

Since then, Smarter Outdoors has grown year on year.
